ACCESS FOR EVERY LEARNER

Accessibility & Low-Data Learning

We are building for learners who use assistive technology, shared computers, low-cost phones, low bandwidth, or prefer text over audio. Our work is ongoing, and feedback helps shape the next improvements.

Available ways to learn

The free daily conversation activity supports reading a prompt, typing an answer, or practising aloud without a microphone. Text activities and a printable workbook can be saved for use without a persistent internet connection.

Keyboard and visual support

Core pages include page headings, semantic content sections, visible keyboard focus styles, skip links on the main application, and a reduced-motion preference. Browser zoom and screen-reader behavior still require further device testing.

Audio and video alternatives

Audio depends on available device voices and may not work offline on all phones. Sample video lessons allow you to choose when to load the publisher's player; the publisher supplies the original lesson and transcript. A free text practice alternative is offered.

What has not been certified

English Compass AI does not currently claim WCAG 2.2 AA conformance or an independent accessibility certification. Automated scanning covers only some provider-managed pages; broader keyboard, screen-reader and mobile testing is still needed.

Report a barrier

Please tell us which page you were on, what you tried to do, which browser/device or assistive tool you used if comfortable sharing, and what happened. Do not include passwords or personal records. We'll use reports to prioritize fixes.

Standards we use as a reference

See the W3C WCAG 2.2 standards and the English for Everyone access initiative. Mentioning standards does not constitute compliance certification.
